RESIDENTS OF PENINSULA TOWNSHIP: The township has taken steps to make its website interactive and ADA compliant. In the process, documents such as minutes, agendas, board packets, forms, ordinances, and the like were eliminated due to the extraordinary cost of converting the information to ADA standards. At the request of residents, these non-compliant ADA documents may now be accessed on this page. Residents who need extra assistance acquiring copies of these documents may contact the Director of Planning & Zoning's office at 231.223.7314 or planner@peninsulatownship.com.
Land Division (LDA), Land Use Permit (LUP), Variance/Appeal, and Special Use Permits (SUP) submissions require an appointment.
30-minute appointments available, scheduled on the half-hour. Drop-ins may be scheduled same-day, in the next available time slot.

Planning Commission Bylaws Master Plan Draft: Peninsula Township has provided notice to specific entities (primarily adjacent jurisdictions) that a draft Peninsula Township Master Plan is available for review and comment for not less than 63 days. This draft is available for review during normal business hours at the Peninsula Township office located at 13235 Center Rd., Traverse City, MI 49686. The document may also be viewed by clicking on the link below. Master Plan 12-08-21 DRAFT Interested entities may submit comments in person or in writing to Becky Chown, Peninsula Township Clerk at Peninsula Township 13235 Center Rd., Traverse City, MI 49686, or via email at clerk@peninsulatownship.com. Comments must be received no later than February 21, 2022. The Peninsula Township Planning Commission will consider comments received (likely at the February 28, 2022 meeting) and thereafter schedule and hold one or more public hearings on an updated draft before approval.
