General Planning Information
The Planning Department works closely with the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Township Board and the public to guide Peninsula Township’s land use patterns and decisions.
Its primary purpose is to ensure that current and future development aligns with Peninsula Township’s vision, planning goals, and zoning laws. Planning recommendations are based on the Peninsula Township Zoning Ordinance, which is guided by the Township’s 5-year comprehensive Master Land Use Plan.
The Planning Department is supported by a staff Planning and Zoning Intake Administrator and contracted Planning consultant.
All initial Planning and Zoning inquiries should be directed to the Planning & Zoning Intake Administrator, who will determine the appropriate path forward and next steps/contact.
